SCOTTeVEST ( is the world's most innovative travel clothing company, based in Ketchum/Sun Valley, Idaho. We are famous for the many hidden pockets found in all of our clothing, and for our patented Personal Area Network (PAN) that manages headphone wires in jackets, vests, shirts, pants,  and hoodies. As a leader in our industry and due to our fantastic location, we have close ties to the outdoor industry as well.

While we are located in Ketchum, Idaho - we are also in the process of setting up a location in Boise, Idaho. Developing a customer service and marketing team located in Boise is a priority for 2018 and the person that fills the role of Marketing Director will lead in developing that marketing team.

SCOTTeVEST is looking for a Marketing Director that can take our brand to the next level. Someone that uses data to make 99% of their decisions, but isn’t afraid to take risks and go with their gut every once in a while.

The Marketing Director will be expected to create a strategic plan to accomplish our goals, not only for this year, but also for years to come. 

Anyone can create a plan. Can you make everything actionable and hit your own deadlines? Talkers need not apply. We want someone that gets their hands dirty and will get things done. 

As Marketing Director, you will be fully responsible for setting our marketing budgets, making sure that all initiatives compliment each other, and constantly measuring back to adapt to what the numbers tell you.

  • You will oversee a team of 2-4 marketing implementers, along with a trusted group of vendors including: media buyers, digital agencies, and independent contractors. 
  • You will work closely with the Creative Director to ensure that our message is on brand, tells a clear story, and is being put in front of the right audience. 
  • You will manage the top, middle, and lower parts of the purchase funnel. 
  • You will have full PnL responsibility of the marketing department. 


  • TELEVISION: You will manage our television spend and work closely with our agency to make sure that we are buying the right stations at the right time slots with the right creative. 
  • EMAIL: You will schedule and run our email marketing to ensure that we are sending clear messages at optimal times. This includes all of our automated sends (Welcome Series, Post Purchase, Abandon Cart, Product Abandon, Re-Engagement, etc)
  • PPC/Retargeting: You will manage our PPC and Retargeting agencies to ensure that we own our brand terms on all search engines, are maximizing our DPA and static retargeting ads, and are expanding our non-brand search. 
  • SEO: You will make sure that we are following best practices in SEO and are constantly staying up to date.
  • SOCIAL: You will create the strategy for prospecting new customers on social media, using both organic and paid campaigns. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing retargeting campaigns. 
  • AFFILIATES: You will make sure that our affiliate program is integrated with the other advertising campaigns. 
  • LOYALTY/REFER A FRIEND: You will oversee our Loyalty and Refer a Friend program to make sure that we are increasing lifetime value and maximizing our customers’ networks. 
  • AMAZON: You will oversee our Amazon advertising and ensure that we are maximizing all opportunities on the platform. 
  • NEW INITIATIVES: You will be expected to bring new initiatives to the table and expand our marketing footprint. You must be able to think outside the box and create relevant traffic from non-traditional mediums.

You should have some level of familiarity with the following programs, or be VERY quick to learn:

  • Google Analytics
  • Google AdWords
  • Facebook Business Manager
  • Amazon Seller Central
  • Typical Email Platforms
  • High Level Excel
  • Basic HTML


  • At least 6 years in a variety of marketing roles
  • E-Commerce or Direct Response advertising experience preferred
  • College degree preferred
  • PnL Experience
