SCOTTeVEST, INC (www.scottevest.com) is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Production Manager to join our Design and Production team.

SCOTTeVEST garments aren’t just made--they are engineered. Our designs offer tons of pockets and features and have an incomparable level of complexity. We are looking for a Production Manager who is obsessed with details and excited to contribute innovative ideas to our unique product line. The ideal candidate thinks outside the box, has strong time-management skills and, above all, is detail-oriented. You must be comfortable managing in-house employees and overseas vendors that work on opposite schedules. Your ability to oversee the production process will be judged on two factors:

  1. Speed and efficiency from initial concept to final product delivery in our warehouse; and,
  2. The overall quality of the final product.

Requirements:

This position is in our office in Ketchum/Sun Valley, Idaho. We will not consider candidates who prefer to work remotely.
Management experience is required and technical design experience is a major plus!

Goal of this position: Effectively manage the production process from start to finish.

Production Manager Responsibilities:

  • Manage and analyze placement and production of samples and re-orders
  • Create a product placement plan and present sourcing and costing options to achieve financial goals
  • Responsible for creating and successfully achieving calendar deadlines for all critical components of the development-through-delivery process
  • Coordinate and lead weekly production meetings
  • Monitor on time delivery of development samples/protos
  • Responsible for ensuring the production meets the design specifications
  • Oversee and ensure appropriate testing is performed on fabrics
  • Track and prepare materials and/or samples for pre-production approvals
  • Oversee the resolution of quality and delivery issues
  • Lead the development of new resources, review supplier factories and mills, negotiate costs.
  • Provide recommendations for raw materials and garment development sourcing
  • Validate and manage time/action calendar received from sourcing channels
  • Partner with technical designer in the review, evaluation, development, and acceptance of fabrics, insulations, trims, and findings.
  • Ensure any design modifications are implemented across the line to all manufacturers
  • Provide weekly production and sample status reports/updates
  • Ship things going out of office (UPS), packages, labels, intercepts
  • Help CS with issues
  • Handle any issues with defective garments through customer service and factory relations
  • Manage sample check-in and analysis process
  • Maintain Bill of Materials by requesting updated artwork when necessary and ensuring factories get the appropriate materials
  • Manage relationship with importers regarding upcoming shipments, delays, etc.
  • Arrange Pre-shipment Inspections
  • Approve invoices for payment
  • Effectively communicate in verbal & written form
  • Review inspection reports
  • Provide quality control for the accuracy of product listings on our website
  • Graphic design skills (photo rendering/color mock ups/prints)
  • Strong excel/Illustrator/Photoshop skills are a must

Desired Technical Designer Skills;                      

  • Ability to create detailed tech packs, BOMs and grading for each garment
  • Ability to create technical sketches of clothing and recommend trims and finishes
  • Understand design and sizing for men and women
  • Knowledge of technical garment design (hand sketches/CAD/fabric selection and suggestion)
  • Experience with sample review/inspection/testing
  • Sewing mock ups for garment testing
  • Garment repair (when applicable)
